"My coursework was the foundation for my skill sets, but having a chance to get outside of the structure of syllabi and GPA fostered a curiosity that has served me well."

2006 Graduate, Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts & Animation, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh
Patrick Bannan creates merchandise design for one of the world’s most known brands—Coca-Cola. His day begins quietly—checking voice mails and emails—but quickly picks up the pace as he fields new design requests. “From there it's a back and forth understanding customer needs and providing necessary support until the project is commercialized or killed.”
Patrick moved into a design illustrator position after working in games and animation. “There was a learning curve associated with diving into an industrial designer-esque role.” The variety of challenges that his job presents is motivating, and he’s proud of his ability to adapt and remain a versatile member of his team.
Patrick, who in 2006 earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts & Animation from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, adds that his education helped to prepare him for his real world career. “There was always an opportunity made available outside of the classroom. My coursework was the foundation for my skill sets, but having a chance to get outside of the structure of syllabi and GPA fostered a curiosity that has served me well.”
